Photographic equipment insurance – All risk cover for non-professional photographers

Photography can be an expensive pursuit and whether it’s a hobby or a source of income it’s vital that any equipment is adequately protected against damage, theft and loss.

Comprehensive cover

Specialist Photographic Equipment insurance is part of County Insurance Services’ expanding product range. Launched in October 2009 this policy is extremely comprehensive and is therefore highly regarded within the photographic industry. The policy provides cover against accidental loss, damage, destruction or theft for any make or model of camera, lens, flashgun, photographic accessories and associated equipment; including camcorders, binoculars, telescopes, audio recorders and laptop computers.

Annual premiums start at just £55 for £2,000 cover.

The policy will also protect equipment if it is taken outside of the UK for up to 60 days at any one time (geographical exclusions apply).

Policy holders are covered up to £1,000,000 if legally responsible for the injury to, or death, of a third party whilst using insured photo equipment in a public place.

Professional, personal service

To qualify for this policy, applicants must earn less than half of their annual income from photographic activities. To ensure that equipment is fully protected it is important that all items of equipment are correctly listed on the policy schedule and our team is here to help. The majority of quotations can be dealt with over the phone and our in-house underwriters will issue documentation without delay.

Settling a claim

In the event of a claim our in-house claims team will ensure that your case is managed smoothly and effectively from beginning to end. As the underwriters of the policy we aim to assist you in getting claims settled promptly.

No claims bonus

If no claims are notified or paid during the preceding 12 months of cover, a no claims discount of 10% on the standard annual premium will be given on renewal.

Policy documents

We constantly monitor and regularly update policy wordings to reflect any changes in market practice, legislation or client trends. We always aim to keep things simple where possible and provide our clients with policies written in plain English.
