A fine day out at the FFFB Ploughing Match 2018

On Saturday 29th September Lisa, Oliver, Tish, Tim and Tracey from the Out in the Field team attended the last of County’s summer shows; The Fairford, Faringdon, Filkins and Burford Ploughing Match 2018.

Celebrating it’s 70th year, the four parishes show saw over 100 participants plough the straightest and neatest line with a variety of farming implements. From horses through to modern satellite navigation machines, an array of farming machinery was on offer.

County’s stand offered visitors both ploughmans and blacksmiths lunches as well as a selection of soft drinks, beer and prosecco.

A special ploughing edition of County’s Blink and You’ll Miss It competition returned, where A Ephgrave of Woodstock area won the competition by correctly filling in the blanks. A case of beer is on its way to them.

The prize draw was won by L Otter of the Swindon area. Congratulations from everyone at County Insurance Services Ltd.

As with many of our shows, we tweeted live from the event. Highlights include:

Tim Sydenham, director of County, said: “It was our third year attending this show and it was great to see so many client again. Our stand was busy from the moment we opened but we managed to pop out and see some of the ploughing competitors in action.”

He added: “We have had some fantastic shows throughout the summer; what a way to end it!”
