Roger’s Farewell Evening Of Summer Fun

The 15th century Yew Tree Inn, Chalvington offered the perfect setting for Roger Newman’s farewell evening of summer fun.

This beautiful location overlooks one of the oldest cricket clubs in the county and on Thursday 9 June welcomed a wonderful array of Rogers friends and family, former IQ clients/current County clients, IQ principal and the County Insurance Services team to an evening of fun and frolics to celebrate Rogers retirement.

It was a special day and Roger thanked everyone for their support and loyalty over the years and spoke of looking forward to his retirement with his lovely wife, two boys and Archie the dog!

Tim raised a glass and said a few words to express the privilege of working with Roger, talking of his passion, drive and knowledge within the farm insurance community, all of which is awe-inspiring.

Event hosts Mark and Izzy prepared an amazing menu. We were greeted with delicious Sussex cream teas, then entertained with the pub games, skittles, frog in a clog and the Oxfordshire favourite, Aunt Sally. We then all sat down for a hog roast, vast choice of delicious salads, all washed down with a choice of Prosecco and/or local Sussex ale!

The night ended in super style with Roger and his Eukele band playing a fantastic set with many of the guests dancing the night away.

Roger will be working until the end of June but please do get in touch with our friendly team if you have any queries 01865 844985 or e-mail rural@county-insurance.co.uk
